Its wonderful to have two large scale woodcuts from my Head Under Water series currently exhibited with Latitudes at the Latitudes Centre for the Arts. The pieces are "I can breathe under water" (Edition of 8) and "Holding my breath" (Edition of 3) - two woodcuts printed off the same block with successive carving between the pieces, originally made to exhibit with David Krut in November 2022. The Latitudes Centre for the Arts (LCA) is delighted to announce the opening of two exhibitions, "Impressions" in collaboration with David Krut Projects & Soho House, and "Playgrounds" in collaboration with Eleven Editions, Workshop 17 Gallery, and Chelsea Selvan.
Curated by Boitumelo Makousu and Denzo Nyathi, both exhibitions centre around the art of printmaking.
The featured artists include Fanie Buys, Boemo Diale, Adrian Fortuin, Heidi Fourie, Stephen Hobbs, Maja Meljević, Matty Monethi, Chelsea Selvan, Bevan De Wet, Kristen McClarty, Andrew Kayser, Bianca Brand, Jessica Webster, Christine Dixie, Olivia Botha, Walter Oltmann, Norman Catherine, Elizabeth Tristram, Cinthia Sifa Mulanga and Mbali Tshabalala.
